At 11:55 on Wednesday, Jack was ready to move. He was armed, equipped with his cellphone, his wrist-comp and a bottle of water, and stood outside the Hotel, waiting to see who'd join him. The plan was simple, straightforward, easy enough to execute...and it might just work.

He checked his watch again. At noon sharp, he'd start walking. Even alone.
